Hezbollah is Recruiting Christians Against "Islamic State"

The Shiite Hezbollah militia in Lebanon, according to a newspaper report, have recruited volunteers of all faiths for resistance brigades against the "Islamic state", even Christians have applied.

Beirut (kath.net/KNA) The Shiite Hezbollah militia in Lebanon, according to a newspaper report, have recruited volunteers of all faiths for Resistance Brigades against the "Islamic State". Several young men were trained directly by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the Lebanese newspaper reported, "An Nahar" (Wednesday). Also a number of Christians had applied.

According to Hezbollah, they have not posted any of the new fighters to Syria, but are preparing for a spillover of the Syrian civil war or an invasion of extremists in Lebanon. In the past, Hezbollah militias have supported Syria's President Bashar al-Assad against the majority Sunni insurgents. Assad belongs to the Alawite religious community, which emerged from the Shiite Islam. (C) 2014 Catholic News Agency KNA GmbH. All rights reserved.

I am of Lebanese ancestry, hence the picture of St. Charbel on my blog.. A contact there in the region of my ancestors, Z'garta and E'hden indicated this weeks ago. The Maronites are armed and will not go the way of there Chaldean brethren in Iraq. As distasteful as it may be, they have no choice for their survival but to partner. As for Assad, as with Saddam, Christians were not persecuted. There are 17,000,000 Syrians, all are Christians all are Moslems in the sense that these have never had problems with each other. It is the outsiders that have consistently fostered torment in both Lebanon and Syria. Assad may not be perfect but he is better than the alternative which is chaos and genocide.

Holy Massabki Brothers, Intercede for Lebanon and Syria.

Christians have no other recourse, because of some sort of cowardice hiding behind peace-making present in the leaders of Christendom, with some exceptions of course.

Those Christians who chose to fight when they MUST are truly the peace-makers, because they are men doing what men must do, which is to love like Christ, that is, even unto death, those they leave behind. Those who hide behind peace while failing to do anything to enforce it are cowards.

God Bless the Lebanese Christians, if God wills that they fight with the Shiite, may they be victorious. Perhaps, the Shiite will, with the intercession of the Mother of God, be converted.
