Newsbytes -- Berlin's Cardinal Woelki Nominated for Homosexual Award

Celebrant in the Old Pontifical Mass in the St. Peter's Basilica -- Berlin's Cardinal Honored by Homosexual Organization -- Israeli Military Vehicles Enter Gaza Strip -- Reconciliation with the SSPX not Desired -- Legionaries of Christ Under New Leadership

Vatican.  The Traditional Pontifical Mass on the 3rd of November celebrated in St. Peter's Basilica will be celebrated by the Prefect of the Liturgy Commission, Antonio Cardinal Cañizares Llovera.  This will be reported by the organizers shortly.  There are several thousand pilgrims expected for the pontifical Mass.  At first there were rumors circulating that Pope Benedict XVI was going to celebrate the Mass.

Berlin Cardinal Nominated for Homosexual Prize

Germany.  Berlin's Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki has been nominated for a dubious homosexual honor.  This was according to the Berlin association "Bündnis gegen Homophobie".  The alliance is advertised on the homepage of the anti-Church association "Lesbians and Gays Germany".  The Cardinal is on a list of nominees with the singer Gabi Decker, the Turkish feminist Seyran Ateş and the infamous German urine showered David Berger.  At the end of November one will be chosen.  Cardinal Woelki was nominated because at the Katholikentag (an festival event going over days with a lot of "ecumenism" which could be described as unCatholic) in Mannheim in harsh contrast to the Faith, he recognized homosexual unions:  "If two homosexuals responsibly take care of one another, if they are stable and true with each other, you must see that in a similar way like heterosexual relationships."

Israeli Military Vehicles Drove into Gaza Strip

Occupied Palestine.  Israeli military vehicles drove this Wednesday several hundred meters into the area of the village of Sofa over the border zone-- east of the 71,000 population city of Rafa on the southern border of the Gaza Strip.  Two bulldozers accompanied the border guards as usual.  They were greeted by massive rifle fire fro the houses of those surprised living nearby.  Then as usual, the fields, which were full of crops just before the harvest, were rolled over.  This occurrence was followed by an air attack by the Israelis on the 60,000 population city of Beit Lahya in the north of the Gaza Strip.  A rocket attack destroyed homes there.   There was panic among the inhabitants.

No Reconciliation is Desired With the Society of St. Pius X

Vatican.  It is up to the Society of St. Pius X to reconcile itself.  That is what the Faith's Guardian, Archbishop Gerhard Ludwig Müller said for the Catholic newspaper 'Tagespost'.  The Pope has exhausted all possibilities:  "We could not persuade them."  The Vatican is supposed to never have sought a compromise in doctrinal questions:  "The Church is not a negotiating partner where the truth is convened."  They don't wish their separate parts to return as part of negotiations.  There are no compromises possible in doctrinal questions -- explained the Archbishop, known for his own doctrinal errors.

Legionaries of Christ Under New Leadership

Mexico.  The General Superior of an order troubled by the abuse scandal,  'Legionaries of Christ', Father Alvaro Corcuera (55) has been put into retirement.  This was reported by the Order in a press release.  The reason was because of necessary health and ability, to lead the Order in this historical moment. Transitionally, the General Vicar, the German Sylvester Heereman (38),  will lead the Order.  The Papal delegate of the Order, Cardinal Velasio De Paolis (76), stressed that this is not an official ouster and that no new director will be elected.

Will the Pope Celebrate the Immemorial Mass of All Ages?

Edit: For this not to be a fairly high profile event, it is certainly being covered by a lot of high-profile news organs.

The apparent "Reform of the Reform" of Pope Benedict XVI. has been a paper tiger for over seven years of this pontificate.  Will the Pope seek a new impulse? -kreuz.net

(kreuz.net) On November 3rd thousands of Traditionalists from throughout the world are coming to a Mass in the Old Rite in St. Peter's.

On the 10th of September the organizers from the Roman parish Trinità dei Pellegrini, which is directed by the Priestly Society of St. Peter,  made the event public.

Widely promoted

The organizer of the pilgrimage is the site "Coetus Internationalis Pro Summorum Pontificum'.  It operates as a collaboration of various Catholic organizations.

The clerical assistant of the pilgrimage is a well-known French priest, Fr. Claude Barthe.

From Germany there's a group pilgrimaging from the lay organization 'Pro Missa Tridentina'.

Who Will Celebrate?

At the press conference it wasn't revealed who would celebrate the Mass.

That was a sentence from the well-informed blog 'messinlatino.it' left open for speculation.

It read there that the pilgrimage would go down in Church history, if the rumors about who the celebrant is to be were valid.

This will be read by observers as proof that Pope Benedict XVI. -- whose "Reform of the Reform" has long been stalled out -- will use this opportunity to say his first Pontifical High Mass in the Old Rite.

Many television news have reported

The pilgrimage is being held in thanksgiving for the promulgation of the Motu Proprio 'Summorum Pontificum'.

Additionally, it is a true announcement for the Pope in view of the Church's current decline.

There are several international television organizations present -- among them 'EWTN', 'CNN', 'Fox News', 'BBC', 'RAI', and even the Arabic broadcaster 'Al Jazeera'.

Advertising Video for the Pilgrimage

On September 12th the organizers published a short advertisement of the pilgrimage with the Titel 'Una cum Papa nostro".

Bishop Fellay Will Miss Fulda Pilgrimage this Year

The General Superior of the Society of St. Pius X can't come to the most important yearly event of the German District.  Was he expected in the Vatican?

(kreuz.net, Fulda)  Bishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the Pristly Society of St. Pius X was expected to participate in this year's Fulda pilgrimage of the German district.

This was reported by the site 'pius.info'.  The yearly pilgrimage of the German District has taken place nine times.

This year it is being held under the motto, "The Church -- our joy, our love, our pride".

The pilgrimage will renew the consecration of Germany to the Mother of God.

Is he being drawn to Rome?

Msgr Fellay has refused by reason of "other important obligations".

It is unclear which short term meeting is more important than the most important annual event of the German District.

The Bishop Celebrates in the Hotel

Instead of the General Superior, the French Society Bishop Tissier de Mallerais will appear instead.

He has proven himself an opponent of a diplomatic solution being reached without clarification of the dogmatic questions.

Msgr. De Mallerais is to celebrate the Mass in the large feast hall of the Orangerie in Fulda.

The celebration in a Fulda church would clearly not be allowed by the Old Liberal Bishop Heinz Josef Algermissen.

"The Pope Wants to Recognize the SSPX"

The General Superior of the Society spoke at the Chartres Pilgrimage about the efforts toward reconciliation with the Vatican.

(kreuz.net, Orleans)  Since Saturday and till Monday the Society f St. Pius X marched from Chartres to Orleans.

In the last year, Paris was the pilgrim's goal.

But this year the Society are recognizing the 600th birthday of the French national heroine, St. Joan of Arc (+1431)  who was born in Orleans.

Shennanigans of the City

The Pius Pilgrims didn't know for long where the concluding Mass would take place in Orleans.

The authorities of the city were really intent on sabotaging the event.

The Society requested some land near the Cathedral in the center of the city.   The authorities expressed their concerns about that.

Then the place agreed upon and the Society began with its planning.

Two weeks before the beginning of the pilgrimage, a denial came out of the blue.

The concluding Mass would therefore have to take place on the peninsula of Charlemagne on the harbor of Loire at the doors of the city.

The Church is at an End

On Pentecost Sunday Bishop Bernard Fellay -- the General Superior of the Society -- celebrated Holy Mass for the pilgrims.

He preached long in French, English and German.

The General Superior touched upon the subject of the destruction of the Church and talked about the Pastoral Council.

Humanly speaking the distorted figure of the Church can not be saved from this crisis -- he said.

Actually, one can't think humanly.  The Church will remain, because She is the bride of Christ.

Bishop Fellay Can't see all the Cards

The Bishop explained that the Society is full of mistrust and fear in the things of the discussion with the Vatican.

One sees how poorly the traditional societies reconciled with the Vatican have been managed -- even those, who have only a light inclination to tradition.

The Society have to proceed with great intelligence.

Somehow or other:  The Society will fight on

At the same time Bishop Fellay sees the possibility that the Society will be recognized.

If the reconciliation threatened the existence of the Society, then it would be rejected.

At the same time it's not a question of imposing God's will.

Will the Pope Follow Through to the End Despite Opposition?

Of one thing is Msgr Fellay certain:  "The Pope wants to recognize the SSPX."

The Bishop then put the question if Benedict XVI is in a position to bring the situation to a conclusion:

"Will he give in, if he is confronted with pressure, with opposition?"

Lack of Unity in Faith

At present there are many open questions.

Msgr Fellay mentioned the Dogmatic Discussions and the various ways of weighing the Pastoral Council.

Pilgrims Ride by Horse on Blutfritag

Europe's largest procession of horses: about 2,600 riders in dress coats and top hats of pastors and ministers, ride through city and field.

Weingarten (kath.net/pdr) On the day after Ascension Thursday, riders from the outlying and further distant village and cities as well as pilgrims from Weingarten's sister city Mantua in Italy arrived punctually at seven o'clock. In the streaming sunshine they turned back after 10km without any major incidents toward the inner city again for Blutfritag (Blood Friday Procession).

In their midst is Dean and Basilica Pastor Ekkehard Schmid (photo). He blessed the people, the homes and fields on the sides of the street as he passed with a Relic of the Most Precious Blood. Up until the closing of the Monastery in Autumn of 2010, this event was organized by the Benedictine Monks. The relic goes back to the soldier Longinus, who pierced Christ's side with a lance. In the year 804 all of the blood appeared again in a miraculous way in Mantua. In the eleventh century a part of the relic was brought by the Guelphs (the Pro-Papal Good Guy Party Factions in Medieval Italy) to Weingarten, whereupon a pilgrimage developed, in which many people are led today to the Martinsberg.

"As the Misterpresident it is an hnor and as a Christian a joy to participate in this event," greeted Winfried Kretschmann. Next to other representatives in politics, business and culture he was noot able to participate in the Blutfritag in Weingarten, because of his appointment at Katholikentag. A solemn Pontifical High Mass with Feldkirch's Bishop Elmar Fischer in the Basilica brought the rider's procession t a close.

This Sunday the SSPX Overwhelms the Holy City of Trier

Whoever can't begin with the middle-left pilgrimage motto "Fair sharing inistead of social division", is left behind with the Lefebvists.

(kreuz.net) The preparations for the traditional Holy-Robe Pilgrimage to Trier is running at full speed.

The great even is being organized by the Saarbruck Priory of St. Mary of the Angels.

This comes from the website 'pius.info' today.

From Three Countries

Almost twenty tour buses from Germany, France and Switzerland were ordered.

In addition there were 130 youth of the 'Catholic Youth Movement'.

They will conclude their German meeting on Saturday and Sunday in Trier and will take part in the Pilgrimage in any case.

The Church-haters Are Also Coming

The Society's German seminary in Zaitzkofen will come.

The schools in Schonenberg, Saarbrucken and Wangs in Switzerland have reported with  the largest number of participants.

For this Sunday, according to the current count, more than an additional 1,000 faithful are expected.  They are traveling by bus, train and private automobile.

Even the anti-Church media will report this great event.  The slanderous "Sudwestrundfunk' has promised to be there.

A Catholic Program

High Mass will be celebrated on Sunday at 9:30 am in the Church of the secularized Abbey of St. Maximin.

The church is being used today as sports hall for the (in name only) Catholic private school St. Maxim and for concerts.

At 12:30 the masses of Pilgrims will enter Trier Cathedral and venerate the Holy Robe.

The day of grace closes at 4pm with Vespers and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

All Welcome?

In the official program of the Old Liberal Holy Robe events there is not a word mentioned about the great Catholic Pilgrimage.

The motto over the Sunday's events reads:  "Today especially: everyone is invited and welcome!"

It remains to be seen if that's the case.

Novus Ordo Superficialities

The official pilgrimage web site informs us that the members from native language communities and from the pastoral concern of the police will set a "special accent".

The 'Catholic Employees Movement' will pilgrimage in the shadows of the pilgrimage to Trier with  a some very  pointed political propaganda "Fair share instead of social divisions".

Otherwise, the Old Liberal Diocese of Osnabruck and Munster are present.

The Dress of a Concentration Camp Survivor

Among the numerous little events there is this example:  '>>Rock Bottom<< of the dress of a Concentration Camp Survivor'.

It has been organized by the 'Catholic Youth Study Group'.

Otherwise there is the immaturely inspired event "Way of Mature Faith".

JESUS IMAGE DRAWS FAITHFUL TO URSULINE CHAPEL

Hundreds of Catholics and fellow believers are making a visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in the Ursuline Chapel on the school’s campus to see what they say is a vision of Jesus on a pillar.

The following comes from WWLTV in New Orleans:

The Ursuline chapel in Uptown New Orleans is home to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, but for the past 12 days, it has also been home to hundreds of faithful who are coming in to see what they say is a vision of Jesus on a pillar.

“I think this is so extraordinary,” said Charles Davis . “You can see the crown of thorns on Jesus. You can see his face. It’s just very extraordinary.”

Word of the image has spread and people are coming from near and far to see it. TheDavis family came in from Geismar, driven by a deep faith.

The chapel, on the Ursuline Academy campus at 2635 State St., is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays until the 12:30 p.m. Mass.

Bishop Fellay: If Bonifatius Had Followed the Spirit of Vatican II, There Would be No Catholics in Germany

Pius Believers are Unfortunately Not Anglicans

The Superior General of the Society of Pius X made the point: If Saint Bonifatius had followed the spirit of the Second Vatican Council, there wouldn't be any Catholics in Germany.

[kreuz.net, Fulda] On the past Sunday 1500 Traditionalists made a Pilgrimage to the grave of St. Bonifatius (+754) in Fulda.

It is the seventh national pilgrimage of the German District of the Society has undertaken to the tomb of the Saint.

The Pontifical Office was celebrated on Sunday by the General Superior of the Society of Pius X, Bishop Bernard Fellay.

He consecrated the entire German District and the whole Society to the Mother of God.

An article on the website 'Piusbruderschaft.de' complained that the Fulda Cathedral was closed to the Pilgrims.

The courtesy of the Bishops in Germany has failed.

Better Protestant than Catholic

In his sermon Msgr Fellay declared: "We are Catholics, we want to simply remain that way."

Today one makes the Society an object of reproach to show itself as Catholic. Therefore that is the reason why you were refused at the church.

The Old Liberal Bishop of Tarves and Lourdes in Southern France, Msgr Jacques Perrier (73), let Anglicans in the Church, the Society of Pius X, however, not.

For that reason he declared to the Society of Pius X: "You insist that you're Catholic"

Bishop Fellay concluded upon this, that the Society could celebrate in the Church, if they denied they were Catholic:

"A complete confusion. This contradiction is everywhere, the situation not simple. Confusion on all sides".

Critic of the Spirit of the Pastoral Council

The Society lives in the truth of that which the Church has always done -- says Msgr Fellay.

"If St. Bonifatius had followed the Spirit of the Second Vatican Council, there would be no Catholics in Germany."

Currently, they are abolishing the Church. They are dissolving it:

"She disappears in a religiosity without boarders, where one has now expressed, the modern Catholics are more protestantic than the Protestants."

In German, his talk at Fulda:

Russians Pilgrims Walking from Irkutsk to Jerusalem

14 September 2010, 17:27
Pilgrims going from Irkutsk to Jerusalem on foot covered about 3,000 km

Petropavlovsk, September 14, Interfax – Two residents of Irkutsk, who are carrying out a pilgrimage to Jerusalem on foot, arrived in Petropavlovsk in northern Kazakhstan, an Interfax correspondent reported.

Irkutsk Cossacks captain Vladimir Bragintsev, former policeman, now pensioner, started for a long journey on May 8 in Siberia, novice of St. Michael the Archangel Monastery Alexander Serebrennikov jointed him a little bit later. For more than four months pilgrims walked about 3,000 kilometers, visited Krasnoyarsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk and other Russian cities and towns.

The pilgrims are going to walk to Jerusalem and worship Christian shrines.

The pilgrims have ordinary tourist set in their rucksacks – a tent, sleeping bags, a pot, matches, food supplies and a medicine box. They buy food on the way taking money from the banking card.

The pilgrims often sleep in the wood in their tent, but sometimes strangers give them a warm reception.

Bragintsev believes his trip to Jerusalem will take him not less that four years, but on his way he dreams of visiting Solovki and Valaam to pray for his relatives killed at World War II.

Pilgrimage to Shrine of St. Lazarus in Cuba

A pilgrimage combining two faith traditions has taken place in Cuba at the shrine of St Lazarus.

It is a religious event which has managed to continue uninterrupted, even in the face of oppression in the past.

Michael Voss reports from Havana.
